The old Hotel Dante, a converted
island apartment complex, is said to be haunted, but it's not until Kevin (Gregory
Michael) moves in with his lover Toby (Charlie David) that something sinister
is released. In 1840, Ambrosius (William Gregory Lee, "Xena," "Dark
Angel," Cruel Intentions 3) was set to marry Grace (Tracy Scoggins),
a witch. The wedding is off when she finds him having sex with his butler, and
she chains him in the basement, only to be released by the kiss of a young man. When
Kevin follows a voice into hidden parts of the basement in 2005, close enough
for Ambrosius to kiss him, he unleashes a now evil immortal into the world. Toby
and other Dante residents must try to save Kevin and figure out the supernatural
forces at work. It's a show aimed towards gay men for the most part, with
Ambrosius' fairly explicit male sex scene within the first ten minutes of the
first episode and several love scenes between Kevin and Toby later. Toby's best
friend is lesbian Van (Nadine Heimann). Bisexual Amber (Kendra Sue Waldman) hooks
up with DJ Crissy (Michaela Mann, "The L Word") for love on the beach,
but the sex scenes between women leave much more to the imagination than those
between men. Van has girlfriend, Tina (Rena Riffel, Mulholland Dr.,
Showgirls), in season two. |
