This film is a spoof of just about every
teen movie made in the last twenty years, right down to dialog and scenes. The
overall plot finds the geeky looking girl (Chyler Leigh) turned into a beautiful
swan by the popular, handsome prom king (Chris Evans), who makes a bet that he
can do it and then falls in love with her. But these themes are parodied, rather
than taken seriously, and if you recognize any of the original teen movies, you'll
probably find the fun in this comedy. Molly Ringwald even makes an appearance. One
of the send ups includes the Cruel Intentions
scene in which Kathryn (Sarah Michelle Gellar, "Buffy") taught new girl
Cecile (Selma Blair, Amazon High, Pretty
Persuasion) to French kiss. Only this time, Catherine (Mia Kirshner, "The
L Word," Exotica, Love & Human Remains,
New Best Friend) teaches new student
Sadie (Beverly Polcyn) to French kiss. Sadie is an undercover reporter and an
older woman, and the kiss is a slobbery mess.
